Give Me Faith

Yesterday I was browsing around on iTunes and purchased the song “Give Me Faith” by Elevation Worship. If you don’t know about Elevation Worship they are the music side of Steven Furticks Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. I posted a blog by Steven Furtick a few days ago. You can go read it here. The moment I heard this song I loved it, but the more I have listened to it I no longer love it, but feel it. Music has a way of expressing our feelings and there are times in our life where we may not be able to put into words what we are feeling. I love knowing that we have the Holy Spirit during these times to help us pray and cry out to God (Romans 8:26), but I’m also glad God gave us the gift of music to express our feelings. I get chills every time I listen to this song because I feel it in my bones. I’m thankful God lead me to this song and how He is ministering to my soul through it. Below is a video of Elevation Worship doing this song. For the first few minutes they sing just the chorus so don’t stop the video watch the whole things and allow God to minister to you through this amazing song. You can find more videos of their worship music on their YouTube channel.

Here are the lyrics:

(PRE-CHORUS)
All I am
I surrender

Chorus 1
Give me faith to trust what You say
That You’re good and Your love is great
I’m broken inside I give You my life

Verse 1
I need You to soften my heart
To break me apart
I need You to open my eyes
To see that You’re shaping my life

Verse 2
I need You to soften my heart
To break me apart
I need You pierce through the dark
And cleanse every part of me

Misc 2
(BRIDGE)
I may be weak
But Your Spirit’s strong in me
My flesh may fail
My God You never will (REPEAT)

Here is the story behind the song:
