Freebie: Ad Filtering Questions for Super Bowl XLVII

It’s been awhile since I have shared a freebie here on my blog so today I figured I’d share a great resource I ran across earlier this week. Super Bowl XLVII is Sunday night and many student pastors are gearing up for parties with their students. But what about those commercials? Do we let students watch them and just hope they miss the inappropriate ones? Do we let them laugh and not realize what worldview the commercial is promoting? I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer, but Super Bowl commercials could be great conversation starters about life, culture, and God. To that end Walt Mueller and CPYU has put together a great PDF handout that helps you interact with your students about what they are seeing in the Super Bowl commercials. The handout offers a ton of questions to get discussion started as well as some thoughts on why these commercials are so powerful.

So do yourself a favor and download this helpful PDF. Even if you think your not going to use it, download it and read over it.
